Documentary Cinematographer About Ben Emery is a Television Cameraman and Cinematographer with over 14 years experience in the industry. Ben began his career in Australia covering foreign assignments in Indonesia and Europe including the 2005 London Bombings. In 2006 Ben relocated to Kuala Lumpur to pursue his passion for covering international assignments. These assignments have taken him all over Asia and around the world including, Afghanistan, North Korea, Myanmar, Mongolia and China and many more. Currently he is based between Singapore in South East Asia and Doha in the Middle East. Ben’s work has been acclaimed and he has received over 11 awards. Most recently in 2013 the Australian Cinematographers Society awarded Ben a Distinction at the national awards for “Mustang: A Kingdom On The Edge” in the category of Documentary Cinema and Television. In 2013 the film “So Close So Far Away” for which he was the Director of Photography picked up no less than 3 awards. While in 2012 he received a Gold for Best Documentary Cinema & TV, and in 2011 he was awarded a distinction for his work by the ACS. He was presented the prestigious Golden Tripod by the Australian Cinematographers Society in 2010. Ben has also been the recipient of the Best Single News Report at the 12th Asian Television Awards and in 2004 was the recipient of the Australian Walkley award for excellence in Journalism.
